Connection to Islam

Islam is based on the Quran, which represents the prophecy received by Mohammad through the angel Gabriel.

Contrary to popular opinion among many Muslims and Jews, the Quran fully supports the Torah and the Children of Israel who follow Torah laws.

So why does modern Islam say it hates Israel and Jews?

There are several reasons for this.

This page discusses:

The Qur'an Recognises the Torah

Al-Ma`idah 5:44:

We sent down the Torah which contains guidance and light, in accordance with which the Prophets who were obedient (to ALLAH) gave instructions to the Jews, as did the Rabbis and Priests, for they were the custodians and witnesses of ALLAH's writ.

Al-Ma`idah 5:46:

And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.

The Qur'an Criticises Jews Who Do Not Follow the Torah

However, like Jesus, the Qur'an also raises a number of criticisms of the Jews. These include accusations that there is a group of Jewish people who are:

  • Misunderstanding the words of the Torah;
  • Not following the words of the Torah;
  • Misleading themselves without realising it;
  • Misleading others;
  • Following falsehood.

At-Taubah 9:31:

They have taken their Rabbis and Monks, as well as the Messiah, son of Mary, for their lords besides the Lord, when they were commanded to worship only one ALLAH.

An-Nisa 4:46:

Among those of the Jewish faith there are some who distort the meaning of the [revealed] words, taking them out of their context and saying, "We have heard but we disobey!" and "Hear thou as one who heareth not!" and "Listen to us!" thus making a play with their tongues, and implying that the [true] Faith is false.

Al-Baqarah 2:78:

There are among them illiterate people who have no real knowledge of the divine Book, only wishful thinking and conjecture.

Ali-Imran 3:69:

A faction of the people of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead anyone except themselves, and they perceive [it] not.

Al-Ma`idah 5:41:

[Those of the Jewish faith] listen eagerly to falsehood, they listen eagerly to other people without having come to you [Mohammad, for enlightenment]. They distort the meaning of the [revealed] words, taking them out of their context.

Al-Ma`idah 5:63:

Why do the Rabbis and religious scholars not forbid them from saying what is sinful and devouring what is unlawful? How wretched is what they have been practicing.

The Qur'an Suggests the Torah Is Correct

Jews would have a much more genuine, accurate and spiritual claim to the land if they sought to establish Israel as a holy nation under the Torah, instead of democracy.

For better or for worse, many Muslim nations have already implemented Shari'a Law as national law. A legitimate and religious claim to Israel would help to restore confidence, respect and trust for the Jewish people in the Muslim world.

Al-Ma`idah 5:66:

If only they had stood fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There is from among them a party on the right course: but many of them follow a course that is evil.

Say: 'O People of the Book! Ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel and all the revelation that has come to you from your Deity'.

The Descendants of Abraham in Israel

The Torah says that non-Israelites have two options: they can either live outside of Israel under the Torah, or within Israel under the Torah as an alien.

The fact that there should be a country under the religious law of the Torah is not a personal suggestion of mine - holy books of law are Divine instructions for the religious people they concern and the commands in the Torah are equivalent to the Divine commands in the Qur'an, which require exactly the same thing.

HASHEM has said there needs to be a portion of land that is governed by the religious law of the Torah.

Two-State Solution

If some Palestinians (descendants of Abraham) want a separate state, they should be allowed to govern themselves.

This will mean the boundaries of Israel will remain limited (as compared with the boundaries identified in the bible, as they are already anyway).

Palestinians/Muslims Living in Israel

The Torah permits non-Israelites to live legitimately in the land of Israel, as governed by the Torah, since various provisions are made for them (Numbers 15:15).

HASHEM'S requirements are to establish an ethical society in Israel and a truly ethical and consistent society is a paradise on earth. Even those who do not wish to share the beliefs of Israel are welcome to share of all the benefits that the Torah brings to a society by living in a Divinely-guided Israel. under several highly ethical Torah principles. I truly believe that a Divine Israel will bring a better quality of life to both non-Israelites and Israelites. The only requirement (of the Torah) is that the law of HASHEM is not unduly altered by non-Torah principles. BOTH non-Israelites and Israelites are required to live under this law, as it applies to each party.

Although the Torah makes specific references to Isaac in terms of the Covenant (Genesis 17:20-21), there are also references that say the land will be given to 'Abraham's seed' and this description includes Muslims as the descendants of Ishmael (for example, Genesis 13:15 and Genesis 15:18).

The fact is, the Torah demarcates the original land of Israel as wider than is recognised today (for example, Genesis 15:18 describes it as extending from the, "brook of Egypt to the Euphrates river", which encompasses current locations such as the Palestinian territories, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, as well as others, Exodus 23:31, Deuteronomy 11:24Deuteronomy 1:7 and Numbers 34:1-15). Abrahamic descendants are therefore already living in Israel, as envisaged by the Torah. This is what the Torah has said.

Right of Return

The argument against the Right of Return for Palestinians is that, because Israel is a secular democracy, large numbers of Palestinians could vote for changes away from Judaism.

IsraelAlia is presenting a biblical way of understanding the Israel-Palestine disagreement and a biblical way of solving it: the bible says the descendants of Abraham can live in Israel but that the law of Israel should be the law of the Torah.

Some Muslims appreciate living in the democratic state of Israel but the fact is, democracy is precisely what is denying Palestinian rights. When the law of the Torah is established over Israel, it will not matter how many Palestinians are there or not.

The Temple Mount

I do believe the Jews must have access to the Temple Mount but I also believe the Jews need to make a holy and religious claim, based on genuine Divine purposes.

This is not currently the case with the only governance in Israel being a secular democracy. There is no Jewish right to the land of Israel based on democracy.
