About the IsraelAlia Project

IsraelAlia is a voluntary, not-for-profit project designed to pursue the truth of Torah.

The IsraelAlia Project was inspired by this presentation:

Nehemiah Gordon mentions that some Pharisaic laws are described as 'commandments of Yehova' but are not in the Torah. He illustrates the difference between law made by the Pharisees and original Torah Law. The point is explained well within the first 15 minutes!

IsraelAlia Goals

  • To bring this issue to the attention of others;
  • To establish a forum in which interested and learned parties can debate these questions by way of communal inquiry and come to clear conclusions;
  • To establish the law-making authority of the Priests and Judges;
  • To engender a re-evaluation of Jewish Law by the Priests and Judges;
  • To institute Torah Law in the land of Israel;
  • To enable people to play a positive role in this unprecedented psychosocial journey and for it to have a positive outcome for all.

Lucille Marie Barnard (Lucy) was born and raised in Kilburn, North West London. She attended the Jewish Preparatory School (JPS) (Orthodox/Pharisaic) and Jews' Free School (JFS) in London. She read Law at Jesus College, Cambridge.

Lucy then trained as a Barrister and was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in 2006 (although she is not a lawyer).

Lucy is half English and half Jamaican and appeared on the BBC programme, 'Black Ambition', which followed eight ethnic minority students at Cambridge in 2003.

Although she now argues that Pharisaic law is out-of-date, it was the Pharisaic principles of ethics that led her to become who she is today.
